A general meeting to elect new office-bearers of Gold and Gems Art Promotion Council of Pakistan (GGAPCP) for two years (2015-17) was held on October 09, 2015, at the regional office of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). On the special invitation, Mr Shahzad Ahmed Sheikh, President, Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry, attended the function as chief guest.
First of all a 10-member executive committee was elected:
1-Mr Muhammad Shaukat Ali (Lahore)
2-Mr Muhammad Javed Rana (Lahore)
3-Haji Tariq Javed (Lahore)
4-Mr Munir Hussain (Raiwind)
5-Mr Rana Naveed (Lahore)
6-Mr Rana Ejaz (Faisalabad)
7-Mr Muhammad Faisal (Lahore)
8-Mr Nisar Ali (Sargodha)
9-Mr Muzaffar Imam (Karachi) and
10-Mr Ikhlaq Ahmad (Lahore)
The session was started with the introduction of members to each other, particularly the new members. All the election process was completed in a cordial and peaceful atmosphere.
At the second step the election of the zonal chairmen were elected:
1-Haji Rana Muhammad Asghar, Zonal Chairman (Punjab)
2-Haji Muhammad Saddique, Zonal Chairman (Sindh and Balochistan)
3-Haji Dost Muhammad Khan, Zonal Chairman, (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa)
4-Israr-ud-din, Zonal Chairman, (Gilgit-Baltistan-Chitral) and
5- Muhammad Faisal, Zonal Chairman, (UAE).
Later, the following office-bearers were elected unanimously:
1-Muhammad Ahmad, (President-Lahore)
2- Sohail Ismael, (Senior Vice-President-Karachi)
3-Muhammad Alamgir, (Vice-President-Lahore)
4- Rana Nadeem Aleem, (Vice-President Jewellery Sector-Sahiwal)
5- Irfan Salahuddin, (Vice-President Gems Sector-Lahore)
6- Malik Muhammad Tahir Rafique, (General Secretary-Lahore)
7- Muhammad Shahid, (Joint Secretary Toba Tek Singh)
8- Nazim Ali, (Finance Secretary-Lahore)
9- Shaukat Ali, (Information and Coordination Secretary-Lahore) and
10- Ahsan Sarwar Khan, (Director Research and Development-Sahiwal).
At the end of the meeting, Muhammad Ahmad offered thanks to all members and participants of the meeting.
